Diploma in Social Work and Supervision Skills, Practicing Certificate |
I am a Senior Social Worker and Supervisor with extensive experience in social work practice in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom. Since returning to New Zealand in 2020, I have maintained full registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registered Board and hold a current Practice Certificate. As a born-again Christian, I only share my faith when specifically asked.
I draw on a wide range of strategies and theories to support and empower supervisees and use strength based and reflective practice. Throughout my Social Work career, I have developed a broad knowledge and expertise in my social work practice. My work in the United Kingdom focused on supporting vulnerable children, particularly in the areas of Child Protection, Court Work, and fostering services.
In recent years I have been actively involved in supporting individuals affected by Family Violence—a specialised area of social work in New Zealand. Through my professional journey, I have come to recognise systemic and reflective practice are essential qualities for social workers.
Using a supervision process enhances the understanding of risk and the needs of the client, especially in situations involving trauma, unresolved emotional issues and ethical dilemmas. I am available 3 days a week to provide supervision using reflective practice, validation and encouragement.
If you are interested in supervision support, please contact me with your details. I will respond via email or telephone. The usual process involves scheduling a time and date to meet at a suitable café.
Supervision sessions will be held face-to-face at a café or conducted online.
